~Expo XII~

Expo XII has come and gone and what we have left are some great memories.  Memories of some of the beautiful exhibits that graced our show.  Memories of seeing old friends again, whether you were an exhibitor, vendor or spectator.

We'd like to thank everyone for helping make this another successful show.
There were some very nice Model 430's (our feature tractor) at the show including these that were featured in one of the big tents.  These included a 430 H, 430 S, 430 HLP and a 430 ULP.
One of the highlights of our show was the 40-foot banner on loan from John Deere Canada.  It was on display in the big tent by the headquarters building.  Below are portions of the banner that was on display.  We'd like to thank Michael Blonski, President of John Deere Canada, ULC; Robert Young, Chairman of the John Deere Historical Committee in Canada; and Frank Tousaw, Manager, Training Programs at John Deere Canada ULC for making this happen.
Charles Freitag returned to our show this year  bringing his daughter with him. His artwork is a tribute to the people who are the backbone of this country.
The scenery he paints depicts the image of the older American farms by blending a touch of both old and modern technology.
A popular event is the barrel roll  where the driver must push a barrel down the track to the finish line without going out of bounds.  This takes a little bit of luck and a lot of skill because of the shape of the barrel.  Some of these guys make it look so easy, but it takes a lot of practice to make it go where you want it to.
Another popular event is the slow race.  The winner is the last one across the finish line.  The goal is not to fall asleep before you get there!
The big guys like to strut their stuff at the tractor pulls on Friday and Saturday nights.  This is always a very popular event with exhibitors and spectators alike.
The not-so-big guys take their pulling seriously, too.  Look at the grim determination on their faces!  Everyone who participates gets ice cream.  It doesn't get any better!
It goes without saying, we wouldn't be here if it
wasn't for all of you.  Thank you!

We hope you will joining us in 2017 for Expo XIII.  The feature tractor will be the John Deere Model 630.
On display in the Finger Lakes Two Cylinder Club tent was this 1914 Velie from Canandaigua, NY.
